AKB48 Primer - Team 4
Team 4 was formed in 2011, disbanded in 2012, and reformed in
2013. Their team colour is yellow. Typically, Team 4 has a young and fresh image.
The current line-up was formed in December 2017 on AKB48’s
12th anniversary. There are 23 members, 10 of whom also belong to Team 8.
They have had no original stages and are currently reviving the
SKE48 Team S stage Te wo tsunaginagara.
Their latest team song is Neko allergy.

Joined as part of 16th gen in 2016.
Can play the saxophone and studies music at university.
Was a Nogizaka46 fan who went to handshake events before joining AKB48.

Utada Hatsuka (Hatsu)
Born July 8th 2002
19 years old
Joined as part of Team 8 in 2016.
Team 8 representative for Aichi Prefecture.
Weirdly into watermelons.
Admires members who are good at dancing, since she considers it her weakness.
Loves playing table tennis.
Sets herself a new challenge every month, and lets her fans decide whether she has succeeded or not.

Okada Nana (Naachan)
Born November 7th, 1997
24 years old
Joined as part of 14th gen in 2012.
Idoling is srs bsns.
Is attracted to people regardless of gender (although she hasn't chosen a specific label).
One of the best vocalists in AKB48.

Joined as part of 16th gen in 2016.
Her special skills are supposedly soccer, flamenco and sanshin but I have yet to find evidence.
So obsessed with Asai Nanami’s seitansai t-shirt from 2017 that her mum had to hide it to stop her wearing it all the time.

Team 8 representative for Ehime Prefecture.
Plays the sanshin and the violin.
Fan of anime and manga, particularly ‘Kimi to Boku’.
Really wants to visit Iceland one day.
Eats mandarins every day because her home prefecture is the "Citrus Kingdom".

Joined as part of draft 3rd gen in 2018.
Her special skills are wadaiko and badminton.
Also good at making funny faces.
Her unit with HKT48’s Matsuda Yumi won the 2018 Janken Tournament, releasing the single Himawari no nai sekai. The music video showcases her home prefecture of Fukui.
Wants to spend her old age drinking matcha and eating Japanese sweets.

Was a actor actress who performed in musicals including The Lion King.

Wants to try doing everything in the entertainment industry, from being an idol to acting and voice acting to modeling.
Has a regional accent and while doing theatre work outside of AKB48 she found it very challenging to speak in standard dialect.

Ma Chialing (Macharin)
Born December 21st, 1996
25 years old
Joined in 2015 after winning a special Taiwanese audition and is AKB48’s first entirely non-Japanese member.
Fastest AKB48 member to be promoted after only 68 days.
Was the only one of her friends who liked AKB48 over Kpop.
Centre for Tomodachi ga Dekita which references her move to Japan and features members of Taiwanese sister group AKB48 Team TP.

Her special skills are the shooting stalls at festivals and playing the drums (earning her a spot in AKB48's band unit).

Failed 3 auditions before getting into AKB48.
Fell off stage during her first concert after promotion and fractured her skull, but returned to the theatre a month later.
Special skill is clicking her fingers quickly.
Says her appeal is her face that's round like the moon.

Born September 3rd, 1998

Joined as part of 12th gen in 2011.
Named by her father after the pokemon Mew.
Learnt ballet and hip-hop dancing before joining AKB48.
Muto Tomu is obsessed with her and she is generally beloved and babied by 12th gen.
Hosts a show called idol Picasso, where idols compete against each other woth their artwork.

Will graduate in March 2022.
Her hobby is eating (it’s even in her introduction catchphrase) and she wants to do an eating tour as part of a variety show.

Used to look very lost and scared in performances but has totally transformed and become very extra.

Known as the Goddess of Theatre, as she has appeared in the AKB48 theatre over 1000 times.
Has promised to dedicate herself to the theatre and so doesn’t enter events like the election.
